Houston Coffee Shop Series No.3

Updated: Jun 19, 2019

A few days late on our monthly coffee shop series, but nonetheless, it's here! March was such a busy month for us, but I was able to carve out some time to explore three new coffee shops to share with you all today. Most noteworthy of the three would be Campesino Coffee! Y'all, this may just be one of my favorite shops thus far! I loved that it boasts Latin American influences and that it's an old house turned coffee shop.

As you scroll down and read this month's series, I'd love to hear your thoughts. If you've been to these shops before, whether you liked them, or if you have any recommendations for me! Leave a comment below, send us an email, or DM us on Instagram. Either way, I would love to chat with you!

The Good

  • Coffee is $2.75 with refills available for 80 cents

  • Small parking lot but street parking available

The Bad

  • Poor customer service, staff didn't seem welcoming

CAMPESINO COFFEE

2602 Waugh Dr, Houston, TX 77006

The Good

  • Such a friendly staff! They offered me a sample of their Cubano (a type of espresso that originates from Cuba and is sweetened with sugar as it's brewed) AND they offered me a refill of my coffee to-go even though I originally had a cup there.

  • FREE COFFEE REFILLS

  • Wifi available

  • Interesting specialty drinks you might not find at any coffeeshop

  • Love the ambiance - super homey (literally because it's an old house that was turned into a coffee shop). Great place to get some work done or bury your head in a book because of the little hidden nooks in the back rooms

  • Side note: all their beans come from Mexico, Central America, or South America and periodically feature Houston roasters

The Bad

  • Some parking spots around the house, otherwise you're limited to street parking

BLACKSMITH

1018 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77006

The Good

  • Food is DELICIOUS - this is a great spot for brunch as well. (Their Scratch Square Biscuits are to die for!)

  • Small town feel in the heart of Montrose

  • Super Instagrammable!

The Bad

  • A little pricey

  • Super crowded on the weekends

  • Parking can be a pain (but when is it not in the Montrose area?)

Happy Tuesday everyone!
