I cannot believe it is October already! It seems like September zoomed by, and apparently it was incredibly busy because I realized I haven't been too active on the blog this past month. We have a lot happening this October, so get ready for an action packed month, including another possible food and beer pairing event! (More details to come!)
Until then, hope everyone stays dry out there through this rainy season, and... here are our coffee shop finds for the month:
THROUGHGOOD COFFEE
732 W 27th St, Houston, TX 77008
The Good
The music selection is absolutely perfect. I was really diggin' it the whole time
Large parking lot, especially for the Heights area
Tacos, donuts, and pastries available for purchase
Large outdoor patio area
Pet-friendly!
Wifi available
The Bad
A bit pricey. Paid $5.14 for a latte with almond milk
BRASIL
2604 Dunlavy St, Houston, TX 77006
The Good
Big open space with indoor and outdoor seating (obsessed with both front and back patios!)
Great for small or large groups
Bites available if you're looking for food and coffee
The Bad
The coffee is subpar (we both got a specialty drink), but it's known for a good brunch. We'll have to come back to try the food!
Gets pretty crowded over the weekend, so if you're looking for a quiet place to work then, this is not your spot
Mostly street parking, which is typical for the Montrose area
AHH, COFFEE!
2018 Rusk St A, Houston, TX 77003
The Good
Local, small batch specialty coffee beans from Argus Coffee Co
Quaint, little spot in Downtown
Happy hour everyday after 5pm - $2.50 Texas beers, $1 off all other beers, 1/2 off pastries
The Bad
Tight parking lot up front (although we came on a weekend and was lucky to find a spot)
Not the most photogenic place
