Seafood is my ultimate comfort food - any time of the day, in any shape, form, or fashion. So when I heard Pinch Seafood Restaurant & Bar combines seafood and Southern comfort, I knew we were in for a treat!
Pinch lies just north of Memorial Park. It's a little off the beaten path, but nonetheless the interior is what you'd expect from any new hip and trendy spot. Brick walls, metal chairs, and exposed pipes - the establishment checks off every aspect of industrial style decor.
LOADED TOSTADA NACHOS
Deep fried tostada chips, chicken, queso, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and fresh jalapeno.
This is the newest addition to their menu (added literally the day before we dined)! Add the steak for $2. It's SO worth it.

THE PINCH SLIDERS
Fried pork bun, seared angus beef, applewood smoked bacon, pickles, mayo, and whole grain creole mustard.
Yes, that's right, I said FRIED. PORK. BUN. The fried pork bun is part of Vietnamese cuisine, and in short, it's a ball-shaped bun stuffed with pork, onion, eggs, mushrooms, and onions. Turning one into a slider was something I would have never imagined, and yet here it is! And it is unbelievably good. It's crispy, juicy, and a powerhouse of flavors. This dish was my personal favorite of the evening, and I highly recommend giving this a try.

DEVILED EGGS AND FRIED OYSTERS
Boursin cheese, fried oyster, jalapeno remoulade, and sriracha aioli.
I'm personally not a huge fan of deviled eggs, but the owner said that these were a must try, and boy was he right. I loved the addition of the fried oyster to the classic deviled egg. The flavors worked wonderfully and the textures meshed surprisingly well.

POP'S PORK CHOP
24-hour brined bone-in pork chop, habanero cured bacon, root beer glaze, with green beans and mashed potatoes.
To be completely transparent here, the green beans were my favorite part of the dish. The flavor of the pork chop was good but just a little dry.

BLACKENED REDFISH
Blackened redfish, hot sausage dirty rice, and Crab and Crawfish Etouffee.
Another recommendation by the owner, and this one was delicious! It really highlights the Louisianan influence the owner had on the menu.

Another dish we recommend trying (not pictured) is the Gumbo with a side of grilled cheese! It's a combination was a little questionable to us at first, but the owner assured us that this was a Louisianan classic!

COCKTAILS
Pinch just got their liquor license right before our visit, and boy were we glad! They've concocted a rather creative listing of cocktails. Try the Hakeem Dreamsicle and the Whiskeyrita!
