Cavo Coffee, cousin of Siphon Coffee in Montrose, is a cozy, aesthetic coffee shop in the Greenway/Upper Kirby area. Fellow coffee snobs, listen up.
At Cavo Coffee, you can enjoy craft coffee from Houston-based Amaya Coffee as well as from a couple other roasters. Known for their siphon brew, we immediately knew to order the Siphon for 2.
If you're not familiar with siphon coffee, here's how a siphon works:
The coffee maker consists of two chambers. The bottom is filled with water and is heated, causing water to rise into the top chamber, where the coffee beans are. Once the heat is removed, the liquid in the top chamber falls back down into the bottom chamber.
Siphon coffee is known to be more aromatic and taste more vibrant and crisp. The coffee is meant to be enjoyed without cream and sugar, as it mutes the benefits of using a siphon coffee maker.

Ample seating is great for working, catching up with friends, or enjoying alone time with your cup of joe. The light and airy interior is quite a sight as well. You could say I'm mildly obsessed with the set up at Cavo.

As you may have seen on our Instastories, we snagged a bag of Amaya Coffee beans before the storm and were able to enjoy the coffee from the comfort of our home. We've used them everyday since then, and we love it. The other options they carried also smelled wonderful. We'll definitely be back to pick up some more, so keep following us on our stories to see what we get next!

During our last visit, we didn't get a chance to try the other options, but Cavo also carries a selection of wines and beers. Happy hour is Monday through Friday from 2-8pm - $3 beers and $5 wines.
You can also grab a bite to eat. The menu offers a variety of toasts, tacos, sandwiches, and salads.
