I am thrilled to share that Houston's first Flower Child location is officially open to the public TOMORROW! I first heard that they were coming to Houston a few weeks ago, and I have been eagerly awaiting the doors to open since. One location popped up in Dallas just before I made the move a little over a year ago, so I have had my eye on Flower Child for a longgg time!
This past weekend, we got a sneak peek during their VIP days, and to say that I'm a tad obsessed would be an understatement to say the least. Every aspect of this new eatery speaks to me. From the adorable outdoor patio and irresistible airy interior to the delicious healthy dishes with vegan and vegetarian friendly options, there is nothing bad I could say about the restaurant. I think I may have just found my new happy place!
Before getting into the food, I want to mention the tea and lemonade options available. Is this not just the cutest drink display you ever did see?! We loved the rose petal lemonade, the mango green tea, and the passion fruit black tea. I could easily sip on any of them all day though.
Beer and wine are also available to order.
The menu at Flower Child features farm-fresh, made-from-scratch bowls, grains, greens, and wraps. Whatever you're in the mood for, whether you're "vegan, paleo, gluten-free, or just hungry", Flower Child has a little something for everyone. We tried something from almost every section of the menu, and I think I can safely say that everything is delicious. In fact, Matt, who loathes healthy food I might add, loved everything we ordered!
HEIRLOOM TOMATO TOAST || Goat cheese, pistachio pesto, and sea salt
WATERMELON AND FARRO || Heirloom tomato, radish, peppadew, pita, crispy garbanzo, kale, romaine, pomegranate, preserved lemon vinaigrette with sustainable salmon (+$7)
VEGAN POKE (Front) || Marinated beet, avocado, pickled mushroom, cucumber, radish, wasabi pea, smoked dulse, brown rice, spicy ponzu
FLYING AVOCADO (Back right) || Smoked turkey, gouda, romaine, tomato, avocado hummus
We both highly recommend any of the dishes above. Again, it really depends on what you're in the mood for.
Lastly, a peek of inside the restaurant. It reminds me of a brightly lit greenhouse with such an inviting and vibrant atmosphere.
