I'll admit, Moon Tower Inn isn't the perfect spot given the fact that it's January, and we're in the middle of winter. BUT it's Texas, and despite the face that we were in freezing temperatures earlier this week, it's getting up to the 70's today!
Last weekend during our cold front, we got pretty lucky because the sun was out, making the 30-40 degree weather a million times more bearable.
Moon Tower Inn is nestled in East Downtown aka "Eado", the next up and coming neighborhood in Houston. That being said, the area isn't the nicest, but I loved all the murals we got to see on the way there. Plus, street parking is free!

You'll place your order and grab a beer as you walk in. They have a large selection of beer so even if you aren't getting food, this is a great place to drink with friends especially when it warms up. The string lights and the mural in the back make for the perfect setting as well.

We ordered a few different dishes to get a good variety of the menu.
P.S. All the food is made fresh to order so expect about a 20 minute wait time!

THE ELVIS || A bit of all the apps + meats and cheeses
This is a great choice if you're wanting to try a little bit of everything. Unfortunately they were all out of the jalapeno poppers when we were there so we didn't get to try those. Huge bummer because I've heard great things about them. Our favorite was the deviled eggs.

CHONG BURGER || Sunnyside egg, bacon, mustard, pickles, and cheddar
The highlight of our meal! I would definitely come back for this burger or to try one of their others. The patty was, albeit on the thinner side, super juicy and flavorful.

WILD BOAR WEINER || Wild game meat with chef's choice toppings
I've never seen wild game weiners available at restaurants before, so when we saw them on the menu at Moon Tower Inn, it was an automatic order for us. If you're feeling adventurous, this place a fun destination! They have everything from elk to buffalo to rabbit!

Overall love this outdoor space. Decent food and wide selection of beer? Count me in anytime.
