Authentic Mexican food is hard to come by. A lot of times in Texas, you meet a lot of Tex-Mex restaurants, but let's face it, the food just isn't up to par with true and traditional Mexican food. Last week, we found some authentic Mexican food in... Sugarland! Surprised? Yes, I was too, but just wait until you see, better yet, TASTE the food for yourself.
Soto's Kitchen prides themselves on taking traditional flavors and incorporating classic and modern techniques. You'll find a full menu of options to suit any craving, with some Tex-Mex options as well.
APPETIZERS
SOTO'S TOSTADAS
Sauteed shrimp, red cabbage, and avocado on a crispy tortilla with a hibiscus sauce and garlic foam.
A complete bite of each ingredient is heavenly. Not the best sharable dish (mostly because it was so good I didn't want to share). Get one for yourself! It's that good.

CHICKEN CUBANO
Marinated grilled chicken breast, chimichurri sauce, and pickled red wine onions on top of seared sweet plantains.
The contrast between the sweet plantains and the pickled onions are absolutely perfect. I can see why this one is one of their most popular appetizers! Highly recommend this one.

ENTREES
SHRIMP STEAK
10 oz steak, 3 garlic shrimp, and jalapeno pineapple sauce.
Love their version of a surf and turf. The sauce is everything!

CHICKEN SHRIMP AL CASCABEL
Marinated grilled chicken breast, sauteed spinach and shrimp, cascabel sauce, and monterrey jack cheese.
We had a couple people at the table say they don't normally like chicken, but their opinion was changed by Soto's Chicken. The chicken breast was tender, juicy, and packed so much flavor.

STREET TACOS
Highly recommend these tacos! They are topped with the jalapeno pineapple sauce AND fresh pineapples.

STEAK OAXACA
Marinated steak over plantain, black beans, and black mole.
Y'all... this was the most perfectly cooked and flavored steak I've had in a long time. Hats off to owner and chef, Amador Soto. He knows how to cook a mean steak!

FAJITA SALAD
Beef fajita, iceberg lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, cheese, and tomatoes.
This dish is nostalgic for me. Growing up, I'd only order nacho supremes at Taco Bell, and this brought me back to my childhood days. Soto's version is obviously at least 80 times the quality of Taco Bell. The beef is top notch and the other toppings are super fresh. If you loved Taco Bell's nacho supremes too, try this dish!

DESSERTS
SOPAPILLAS
Almost like dessert nachos, these sopapillas are almost like a chip. Use them to dip into the creamy ice cream.
